Odysseus's Ithaca : The Discovery

BACK

The Straits of Ithaca (Homer's straits between Ithaca and the island of Same); to the left is the present-day island of Thiaki (Homer's Same). In the far distance on the right, and immediately in front, is the eastern shore of Cephallonia (Homer's Ithaca). In the middle of the straits, somewhat closer to Eresos - the northern Cephallonian peninsula - is the islet of Daskalio (Homer's Asteris). This is the view towards south, from Cape Fiscardo.
